L’Aventure du Sucre receives a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award

L’Aventure du Sucre has recently been awarded the prestigious Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice 2022, the highest distinction conferred by the largest travel and tourist site review ‘Tripadvisor’. The Travellers’ Choice Award rewards the best operators in tourism, namely those who have favored customer’s experience with the aim to outstanding quality service. Hence, our site has been ranked among the top 10% of the best experiences in the world.

We are very proud for this Traveller’s Choice 2022 award, which once again recognizes the excellence of the unforgettable experiences that l’Aventure du Sucre offers. We warmly thank our visitors for their encouraging comments on ‘Tripadvisor platform’ says Sandrine D’Unienville, Cultural Development and Communication Manager of the site.

Despite a difficult period linked to the pandemic, l’Aventure du Sucre has pursued its efforts to innovate constantly positive experiences for its visitors. Violaine Cateaux, Head of the Museum explains that many contents have been developed ‘online’ during the closing periods in order to maintaining contact with the public and continue to sharing the precious contents on the country’s history and also on our famous special sugars production. When the activities resumed, original visit concepts have been designed to cater for all ages and also for all kind of visitors, thus combing discovery and entertainment. The visitor today can choose either for a guided tour either in English or French for a duration of about 45 minutes to one hour 30 minutes or choose a self-guided tour with the digital companion available in seven languages ie. English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin or Russian. The Arabic language will soon be added to the audio guide. An exploration guide has been designed for the young public with our leading mascots Raj, the Martin and Florise, the Mongoose. Games are also available in this discovery booklet. There is also a “toddler tour” adapted for the young kids. The tour experience is pursued at the Village Boutik. Anna Reymann, the Manager of the Village Boutik points out that the visitor is invited to participate in an interactive tasting workshop of eleven natural Mauritian sugars and a workshop to discover the flavors of 17 rums from the New Grove House. There are also more than forty Mauritian products to discover including, honey, vanilla, jam tastings and the possibility to purchase beautiful souvenirs and delicacies made from special sugars developed by the local artisan partners. She concludes by saying that “we are proud to offer high-quality local products and to participate fully in the circular economy of our island”.

Edwige Gufflet, Director of l’Aventure du Sucre was overwhelmed to receiving once again this distinction from Tripadvisor. “L’Aventure du Sucre is so grateful for this beautiful gift from its visitors which coincides with the 20 th anniversary of the site”. This is a real recognition for the innovative work carried out by our team of 60 employees during the pandemic. Our visitors have been sensible to these improvements put in place focusing on customer experience satisfaction,
personalized welcoming and dedicated services. In addition, this prize contributes to the positive impact on both the Beau Plan and Pamplemousses regions and the island overall.
