As part of Pink October, the month dedicated to raising awareness of and preventing breast cancer, L’Aventure du Sucre has once again partnered with Terra Foundation, giving 12 women from the northern region who are part of the NGO Link To Life the opportunity to take part in a solidarity workshop.
They had the chance to discover the world of poi and create their own accessories using upcycled fabrics generously donated by The Kreol Republic.
Guided by artist Hafiza Jepaul, the participants gradually learned the movements and worked together on a choreography, which was later performed at the official launch of Pink October 2026.
Beyond its artistic dimension, the activity offered a meaningful opportunity for sharing, self-expression and connection. When combined with movement and dance, poi practice encourages focus and coordination while also helping to create a state of “flow”, inviting participants to reconnect with the present moment.
To beautifully round off the day, Hafiza put on a spectacular show in the gardens of L’Aventure du Sucre… see it for yourself in pictures!
A month to see pink in a different light
L’Aventure du Sucre is once again reaffirming its commitment alongside its partners to help raise awareness of breast cancer and support initiatives that promote access to screening in Mauritius.
