Community workshop with Jordane Saget

Art, solidarity & creativity: a truly unique workshop at L’Aventure du Sucre

On 15 April, to mark World Art Day, L’Aventure du Sucre had the pleasure of hosting a community workshop bringing together creativity, kindness and human connection. Set in the heart of our gardens, participants enjoyed a day away from their daily routine, dedicated to expression and sharing.

An encounter born from art: Jordane Saget in Mauritius

It all began at the opening of the collective exhibition “Lines & Colors of Hope” at the Caudan Arts Centre. There, we discovered the world of Jordane Saget, a French artist with an instantly recognisable style: flowing, interwoven lines that are both poetic and hypnotic.

Moved by his sensitivity and artistic approach, we wished to extend this encounter by inviting him to lead a community workshop within the lush setting of L’Aventure du Sucre.

Chrysalide NGO: women at the heart of the project

For this workshop, we were honoured to collaborate with the NGO Chrysalide, whose commitment to empowering and supporting women strongly resonates with our values.

Eleven women took part that day, ready to engage with materials and let their creativity flow. Discovering an artistic universe that was, for some, entirely new, they quickly found their own language, their own gesture.

Create, express, grow

With care and a strong sense of pedagogy, Jordane Saget guided the participants step by step, sharing both his techniques and the essence of his creative universe. On enamel cups and sugar bowls, each participant first reproduced, then reinterpreted in her own way, the artist’s signature motifs  organic lines that intertwine, overlap and tell a story.

Beyond the technical aspect, the workshop became a true space of trust, exchange and self-worth. Leaving with a creation to be proud of also meant leaving with something deeper: the realisation that one is capable of creating, daring and expressing oneself.
