Marie, 80 years old, has had enough of her illness. She has a plan: to travel to Switzerland to end her life. But when she tries to tell Bruno, her irresponsible son, and Anna, her teenage granddaughter going through a difficult phase, she panics and makes up a huge lie. Claiming she needs to collect a mysterious inheritance from a Swiss bank, she convinces them to take a trip together. An unwitting accomplice in this charade, Rudy – a caregiver she only met the day before – ends up behind the wheel of the old family camper van, driving the family into an unexpected journey.
With a perfect balance of humour, emotion and sincerity, this film takes you on a memorable road trip across France, where family bonds are reshaped and unspoken truths finally come to light.
