BiobiN®, a collaborative project serving the environment in Beau Plan

Aware of its role within the Beau Plan ecosystem, the L’Aventure du Sucre team is fully committed to a circular economy approach through concrete actions. One such initiative is the use of the BiobiN®, an innovative organic waste management solution that represents a key milestone.

Installed on 14 July 2025 at Beau Plan, near Grays Distilling, the BiobiN® is a 12 m³ composting unit that is transforming the way organic waste is handled on site. This initiative, led by the Terra Group, is part of a sustainable vision that L’Aventure du Sucre shares and actively supports on a daily basis.

An innovative and responsible solution

The BiobiN® is based on a sealed, secure aerobic composting system designed to efficiently process organic waste. Thanks to an ingenious forced-aeration mechanism, the process is fast, odourless, and does not attract pests.

Within just a few months, the collected waste is transformed into nutrient-rich humus, essential for biodiversity and soil health. This compost will be used, among other purposes, in L’Aventure du Sucre’s organic kitchen garden, thereby closing the loop of a truly circular economy.

A tangible environmental impact

The environmental benefits of this initiative are numerous:

  • a reduction in the volume of waste sent to Mare Chicose,
  • lower greenhouse gas emissions linked to transport and methane,
  • reduced pollution of groundwater,
  • local valorisation of organic materials.

The composted waste comes in particular from Le Fangourin restaurant, the Beau Plan Canteen, as well as the Novaterra and Grays canteens.

A collective effort

To ensure the proper operation of the BiobiN®, our employees have been trained to correctly identify compostable waste. In 2025, 2.7 tonnes of waste were collected and recovered by the Fangourin restaurant, representing 7 bags of 20 kg of compost, demonstrating the teams’ commitment and the effectiveness of the system
