Accompanied by our team, you will head straight into the fields to meet Jean-Alain, guide and sugarcane cutter. A true living repository of this traditional know-how, he welcomes you and takes you behind the scenes of a profession that was long one of the country’s main pillars. Through detailed explanations, he shares how the activity has evolved over time, the tools, gestures and cutting techniques, all illustrated with anecdotes drawn from his hands-on experience.

After the demonstrations and stories, it’s time to take action. Machete in hand — under the watchful guidance of our cutters — you will have the opportunity to try sugarcane cutting yourself, a gesture that may seem simple but is rich in meaning and history.

The experience continues with a tasting: sample freshly cut sugarcane and its delicious fresh juice for an authentic and flavourful sensory experience.
