Every year in October, the world turns pink to raise awareness on the importance of breast cancer prevention and screening. True to its human and community-focused values, L’Aventure du Sucre has once again embraced this meaningful cause by joining forces with Terra Foundation and the NGO Link to Life for a unique moment of sharing, creativity, and emotion.
A creative solidarity workshop for a noble cause
Hosted by Élodie Jacobée from Atelier Poisson Plume, participants gave free rein to their creativity by crafting delicate pink flowers from recycled fabrics, collected with the support of The Good Shop and The Kreol Republic.
These beautiful creations were assembled into a magnificent Tree of Life, a symbol of hope and solidarity, displayed throughout October at the Village Boutik.
Visitors were deeply moved by this initiative and the values it represents, making it one of the highlights of the month.
These solidarity workshops aim to put creativity at the service of inclusion and sustainable development.
By promoting upcycling and environmental awareness, L’Aventure du Sucre seeks to combine solidarity, creativity, and respect for the planet. Creative practices help build social bonds and enable individuals facing challenges (particularly women from the Bois Rouge and Pamplemousses areas) to see themselves differently, beyond personal circumstances.
Fun, engaging, and educational, these workshops provide a creative journey for people experiencing social exclusion while helping them better understand issues such as pollution and climate change.
A concrete commitment to health and well-being
L’Aventure du Sucre does more than raise awareness — it takes action.
As part of this initiative, the organisation committed to offering a breast cancer screening day to all its female employees on 31 October.
This thoughtful and impactful gesture reflects the core philosophy of the institution: placing people at the heart of the adventure.
